A benefit show
.
G- Man (real
name Graham Pidgeon) started working with Blueprint half way through the 2003
Tony Hadley tour and has been behind the wheel and a key member of the crew
on every subsequent TH tour.
Around August 2007
G started having problems with migraines, sickness and loss of balance. The
last job he did with the rest of the crew was on 29th sept 2007 for a TH show
in Telford . He hasn't worked since.
Nov 5th last year
the doctors detected a large brain tumour that took a 7 hour operation to
remove.
His recovery at first was remarkable but then he had a series of set backs, which have resulted in further major surgery and a course of radiotherapy. Without the radiotherapy there was a 75% chance of the tumour returning. Unfortunately, this treatment has caused more problems and G has suffered 2 small strokes.
This course of
treatment finishes in a week so hopefully there will be no further strokes,
however, he does have to have another major operation (possibly this
month).
Right now G is not
in great shape.
His estimated
recovery period till he was well enough to work ( but not drive ) was six months
after the operation. With these set backs he' will no doubt struggle to hit
that target. Both he and his wife, Jo have been surviving but with benefits
being so low they are struggling after all these months.
The show at Rock
City in Nottingham will be a benefit to help G and Jo through this difficult
time.
